Let’s Help Camp Woody
Camp Woody was established in 1895 as a part of the Kodiak Baptist Mission in Kodiak, Alaska. The missionaries were invited to bring the gospel to the indigenous people there, but when they arrived, they realized that many children were living on the street with little to eat. The immediate need was for an orphanage.
American Baptist Women collected the money to get the orphanage built and a large group of children was taken in. The mission has evolved over the years to include work with troubled youth, a food bank, summer day care for working parents and more.
Everything they do they do in love and includes the Gospel story. One of the things added was summer camps, including free Family Camp. That's where we can help; by covering some of the expenses so the whole family can go.

Our ABWM Ohio 2025-2026 State Project is
A New Serving Area for
Heart Reach Neighborhood Ministries
Goal - $10,000.00
Heart Reach Neighborhood Ministries feeds children at their three community centers as part of their after school and summer Super Kids programs. At the Redondo Community Center they have a fully equipped commercial kitchen with a walk-in refrigerator. Different groups of children are fed breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks daily from this kitchen year-round. During special events they may have over 300 children and adults that receive a meal from that kitchen.
While the cooking area is in great shape and meets the daily demands, the serving area requires remodeling, basically taking it down to the studs and putting in new walls, cabinets and floor. This area is also a staging area for food boxes to families in need. While they have plenty of refrigerator space, they lack freezer storage for donated meats that are given out. This limits the food they can provide for families. With the remodel, they are hoping to add a commercial grade freezer to increase their capacity to feed families.
They can get the job done for $15,000. Any help that will move them toward meeting this goal is deeply appreciated.
